Heslington Church
Heslington Church (or 'Hes', as it's popularly known) stands neatly between the East and West Campus, opposite Heslington Hall, and serves the University and the village of Heslington. However, Heslington Church is no ordinary church! Not only is it an excellent venue (including a kitchen, library, and comfortable meeting rooms) but Heslington Church is also what's known as a Local Ecumenical Partnership. Anglicans and Methodists joined forces many years ago and now share all work and worship in common. John is based there as Methodist Minister and Catherine also leads worship. You can usually find one of them after the 10 am Sunday service.
All staff and students at the University are welcome to attend services and events at Hes Church. It is also possible to book Heslington Church - it's often used for meetings, music practice and socials). Rooms need to be booked and enquiries should be made through the chaplains or the church office ([email protected]). The church office is open on Tuesday mornings, and you are welcome to drop in to say hello. Once a booking is made arranging the collection of a key on or off campus is easy.
